Favorite stuff of the day: 20th April

Today’s lyrics hail from the fucking awesome Children of Bodom……

Living Dead Beat
by Children Of Bodom

Once again waiting for the darkness, beat up
Spun and scarred. Prepare for another war.
Day by day we decay. Sunlight, get out of my way.
Dig up yourself from your grave.

Bad to the bone, raised in the gutter,
Not exactly a motherfucking role model.
To you looking down on me.
FUCK YOU BITCH!
Ain’t got time for the future or the past.
Live for the moment, make it last.

As long as the twilight veils
The decadence we embrace
More than the ones we love.
We’re ardent, we’re burning down…

[Chorus:]
Not afraid of crying, sorrow and foe.
Not afraid of falling down below.
To the night, recklessly we fly.
Already dead we’ll never die.

Stalling the sandman, fighting back
Drinking like a madman, run away from the light to come.
SHIT FALLS DOWN!
Sun comes up shining bright
Time to close your eyes..

[Chorus]

As long as the twilight veils
The decadence we embrace
More than the ones we love.
We’re ardent, well burn it down

[Chorus]

Ok. I missed a day. I’ll make it up with a fan favorite:

Black Label Society
Blood Is Thicker Than Water

Here comes the rain Another day, another storm I've been down, down, down For oh, so long

I'll walk this mile And I'll ask no quarter For in the end Blood is thicker than water

They try to break me but I refuse to die They try to break me but I refuse to cry

Here comes the rain Another day, another storm

I'll walk this mile And I'll ask no quarter For in the end Blood is thicker than water

Decided to move my Lyrics of the day here and expand more too….. like my favorite stuff of the day:

There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman

There’s a
great big beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of ev’ryday
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow
And tomorrow’s just a dream away

Man has a dream and that’s the start
He follows his dream with mind and heart
And when it becomes a reality
It’s a dream come true for you and me

So there’s a great big
beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of ev’ryday
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away

Twisted thoughts for twisted people

November 9th, 2006 by blacktrix

Ok…. I finally gave in.
I now have a blog.

Why start now? Well, for one….. I haven’t had an outlet to rant for a long long long time, so I figure since the blog train is hot, I better jump aboard. Besides….. I guess this would be a good way of releasing the "inner anger" my anger management coach says I have….. Oh wait. That was Jack Nicholson. Nevermind….(I side track a lot, in case you didn’t already know. Think of it as Family Guy cutaways)

Now where was I? Oh yeah. The ranting.

Ever since I heard that my favorite band in the whole wide world, Black Label Society would be appearing in Guitar Hero back in 2005…. I KNEW I had to buy this game. Buy I did, and low-and-behold, it was the most amazing "beat" game I have ever played. Unfortunately, we in Malaysia can’t get our grubby little paws on the official "Guitar Hero SG Controller" that makes the game oh-so-playable. So for 7 months, I’ve been playing it with the regular PS2 controller and after a while, gave up on it. Fast forwards to June 2006…. I find myself standing at the cash register at EBGames in the Fashion Mall in Las Vegas…. clutching a very big box containing the converted SG Controller and Guitar Hero. As soon as I came back from The States, I ripped open the box and hooked up the PS2 and for 3 straight weeks, played nothing BUT Guitar Hero, trying to master every song on the set list. I think I really stopped playing it a month ago.

But Yesterday, the greatest thing happened to my PS2. I popped in the brand spanking new Guitar Hero 2 and find myself constantly playing it. I also bought an Xbox360 on the same day…. but I ended up playing Guitar Hero 2 the most.

Just when I thought playing Guns & Rose’s Sweet Child O’ Mine and Lamb Of God’s Laid To Rest was awsome enough…. I flipped through the bonus tracks, and I literally wet my pants. DethKlok’s Thunder Horse was on it…. and Strong Bad’s Trogdor….

In case you didn’t know, Dethklok (Or rather the show Metalocalypse) and Strong Bad are 2 of the most fan driven cartoon characters today. Metalocalypse will be geared towards the shredders and metalheads (Like me) and Strong bad is from an Internet Cartoon called "Homestar Runner"…. I just can’t describe the sheer excitement when I played these two tracks. At the time of writing, I still can’t master the elusive "5 Star Rating" on Thunder horse….. but I can pull off some neat tricks. Will film ‘em and post it on YouTube for you guys (or gals) to check out soon.

Bottomline, if you’re a metalhead and a guitar freak…. go get Guitar Hero 2. Get a friend from America (Or Canada…… *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink* Say no more!) and get them to send you the SG Controller….. It’ll be the best investment you’ll ever make.  If this was an arcade machine, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull off the awesome tricks in front of complete strangers (Or in a guitarist’s mind, millions of groupies).

But I’ve already wasted enough time on this blog and not enough time playing Guitar Hero 2!!!!! I promise my next rant will be much more…. um…. whatever. I can’t think straight now. All I can think about is nailing that solo from Freebird!
